Weakest book in the series

Alle meine Rezensionen ansehen Rezension bezieht sich auf: The Girl Who Played with Fire (Taschenbuch) The middle-parts in trilogies often suffer from boredom. It's necessary to catch breath and slow down for the final part. Larsson couldn't make an exception. So "The Girl Who Played with Fire" gives some Background on Lisbeth, but is over long pages devoid of suspense or interesting content. As in the first part, these holes are made up for with sex and violence. At one point I was really surprised, Larsson passed up a chance to describe some gay sex (after covering BDSM, hetero and lesbian sex in depth and at least touching the issue of bestiality).

Lisbeth develops into something like a flawless superheroine. I gave up checking Larssons claims of her Hacker-Techniques in the first issue already - stuff like that just doesn't work in real life. Larsson obviously never came closer to hacking than restoring a quark document on his apple.

Consequently, Part II of the acclaimed intelligent thriller is even more fantastic than Part I.

The end doesn't even try to finalize anything.

The Girl Who Played with Fire is insignificant and scrapes on "Waste of Time".
